So today will be the end of 2010 and midnight and the start of 2011. The question usually stands, "Do you have a New Year Resolution?" And the majority of people will answer, "Yes, I do. It is ________?" For me, I always wondered how many people actually keep their New Years Resolution? My thought are not many!
I, myself, really don't bother with making any resolutions. Reason? I cannot stand failure. I feel it's a set up. I also feel that a new resolution shouldn't only be done on "New Years", it should be done all year round. Now, does that mean I don't do any resolution, I do. Just my resolutions seem to take a bunch of do overs before it comes out right, (they never really come out good on the first try.) I did accomplish one major goal. I decided that I would be out on my own, living in my own place with no roommates before I turned 30, guess what I did. Yay ME!!!
My continued resolution which has been my resolution every year is to all my friends and family continue to strive in everything that they do. That even in hardship, there is reward and lessons to be learn. Do not harp on regret (its very hard to do, but do it anyway), it makes you old. Love like it is your last breath and cherish what you have. Take care of your health and try everything at least once. Hold no grudges and apologize even if the person doesn't.
So, again!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! WELCOMING 2011. EVERYONE PLEASE BE SAFE AND HAPPY!!!
Soon to be thirty-year old, trying to discover her place in the world...

When race become an issue in relationships...
I recently came across an issue, not my personal issue, but an issue concerning someone I know and a dilemma that consisted of race. Her eye candy just so happens to be White and she is a stunning gorgeous woman of African decent. Now, her dilemma consist of his friends and family not accepting her due to her race. This "couple" have basically been in secret for about five months now. He genuinely cares for her and she for him. As I mentioned, their biggest obstacle is his family and friends. She came to me asking me my input on the dilemma and what my thoughts were. I explained to her and told her that if he is not man enough to come out and express how he feels about her to his family and friends then he is not a man. That she is too good to be kept in the shadows and that these individuals are biggots. I explained that if the family is already judging her from the start without knowing you, then her relationship with him is ruined from the start.
It amazes me, that even in this day and age certain people are against interracial relationships. It is 2010 people, soon to be 2011. You would think that there would be some type of acceptance at this point. Everyone has their preferences and is able to choose who they feel they should be with. Interracial relationships are beautiful... don't you think?
If you were in this situation how would you handle it?

My friends
As much as I love my girlfriends, there are moments they want to smack me and I want to smack them. Obviously, its all in a you are acting like a baby now grow up type of smack. So my girlfriend and I were speaking via whatsapp and she has been having a slight dilemma and was very depressed about it. So, I decided it was better to speak to her on the phone and straighten her act out. Me being my brutally honest self and her giggling because she knows I am slightly frustrated, but knows I care about her mental health ... lol (She's pretty sane) and also knows at any point in time I am going to smack her for her silliness...
For those of you who read my blog...
I ask that you take the time out of your busy day to follow a very gifted and talented individual I know. She is 29 Year Old Proud Stroke Survivor! She is by far one of my closest friends and when I mean closest I mean like 20+ years friend. We graduated elementary school together and high school. Then we drifted off to different colleges. But thanks to social networking sites like Face Book and the ancient Myspace we had the opportunity to reconnect and have remained that way ever since. As I mentioned earlier, she is a proud stroke survivor. When I found out that she had the stroke, I was pretty harsh with her and couldn't believe it. But I have been there ever since and this stroke has shown her who her real friends are. I ask that you join her blog and support her cause. She is looking to educate young individuals who think that a stroke can't happen to them. She is proof that they can regardless of your age. She will explain to you the signs to look out for and what not to ignore.
So come and join me on her journey, not only on her recovery, but also her experience.... http://imakethestrokeunitsexy.blogspot.com/
I cannot imagine my world without this strong young vibrant woman in my life and I am thankful for her friendship and support everyday.

When others try to force their views of religion on you!
Have you ever come across an individual who just feels it is necessary to enforce their views of religion on you? Or even working for an organization that judges you based on that? Even states that this is a "Christian Organization" when they are reprimanding you in someway.
I recently had this experience about two weeks ago, both myself and another friend that I had the pleasure of meeting along the way. This organization which shall remain nameless, upon hire, felt it was necessary for myself to know that even though they are a "Christian Organization" they do not impose their religious views on their employees. No more than a few days of working there, I realize that wasn't even the case. My friend who at the time was working there had the experience of being told on more than one occasion that this was a "Christian Organization" and that showing too much skin was not appropriate for this type of organization. On my first day there, I was told to button up my sweater because the boss was going to have a problem. Now, for those of you who know me personally know that I have never been reprimanded on my appearance. And in this regard, I am usually the example of what business attire should look like.
Well, to make a very long story short, I was sent home on another occasion due to my choice of attire, which was a sweater dress. I was told that I look fabulous, but it was too tight and too short and the black tights were not allowed. I also was reminded again this is a "Christian Organization" and that if I was allowed to wear a sweater dress that everyone in the organization would feel it would be all right to wear a sweater dress. On my return back to work the following day, I was dressed in a fitted blouse and dress slacks. My boss still looked at me up and down to see what it was that I was wearing. I was also set up by my boss, but that shall be for a different blog.
With that said, I am no longer working for that company. But I guess what I am trying to make a point of is this... For one, I am a nonpracticing Catholic who has had a child out of wedlock. I do not appreciate someone explaining me the do's and don'ts of what is considered "Christian Like" especially when you are going behind my back talking about me, because that for one, is not "Christian Like" I just can't stand hypocrites who use religion has a source of validation. They are the biggest DEVILS...

When women become out of line
Why are there so many trashy women in the world? When women have the nerve to talk about other women being "man stealer," yet they themselves seem to be that individual. Don't throw stones at glass houses...

The BIG and I mean the BIG 3-0!!
Yup, that's right you read what I said correctly!!! The BIG 3-0! Yesterday was my birthday, and I have yet to really understand it all... So many of my friends are excited about it. I have to admit so was I, but realistically it just means that I am now in my 30s, and ten years from now I will be in my 40s, and then it hopefully will continue from there.
Now with that said, I decided that it would be in my best interest to set some goals for myself. Of course, it is always a good idea to set goals for yourself regardless of the occasion. But for me, I really decided that before I hit 30, I would no longer be living with my parents! Hooray, for me that goal has been met. So this year, my goal is to get myself out of debt and become wiser about my funding. Also, another goal that I have set for myself, I am going to travel more, what I mean by travel is not the typical Caribbean islands, I mean EUROPE and SOUTH AMERICA!
When I hear Stattlich (my boyfriend) speak of Europe, I am in awe... before he hit 30 he was already traveling the world (now, don't get it twisted he's only 32). But that isn't the reason I want to go to Europe or South America, its because I want to live outside of the box and explore the entire world.

Wow, it's been a minute...
Sorry guys, I will try my best to not let this happen again... I am so slacking on my blogging!!
